MICHAEL BLACKSTON

The AFRICAN KING OF COMEDY Michael Blackson. Michael was born in Ghana, West Africa on November 28th 1972. His middle name is Kojo, meaning he was born on Monday! He is the youngest son of eight children, five boys and three girls. At the age of three his parents were separated and his mother took the children to live in Liberia. His mother an evangelist traveled a lot and at the age of nine she took Mike and his younger sister to Nigeria. At the early age of nine Michael started down the road of comedy by making friends and family laugh. Eventually Mike moved to the United States and relocated to Philadelphia. College was one of Michael’s options but instead he pursued a career in stand-up comedy. This African King has appeared on BET Comic View (1992, 1993, 1994, 1999), HBO Snaps, Uptown Comedy Hour, Lean On Me (Movie), BET’s Live From LA, and the new move "Next Fridays"! He was the winner of the Schiltz Malt Liquor Comedy Tour, USA Comedy Central Tour, Coors Light Super Talent Show and he also appeared at the LAFFAPALOOZA Comedy Festival!
